My favourite beauty products 2017

HELLOOOOO AGAIN GUYS! So lets get to me talking about my absolute favourite beauty products that I have been using throughout this year. I felt like writing about this because personally I like reading other bloggers' posts and reading what their favourite beauty and hair products are so I get an honest opinion. So I thought by me writing a blog post on what MY favourite beauty products are and why they are, it can give you an insight on products that are worthy of spending your money on. - If you're like me, your attitude towards buying new products is "I work hard at my job to spend my wages on products that are actually good and do what they say they do." MAKE SURE YOU READ REVIEWS, OTHER BLOGS AND WATCH YOUTUBE VIDEOS ON THE PRODUCTS BEFORE YOU BUY!!!!!

Firstly, I'm gonna start with my favourite makeup products because if anybody knows me, they know my never ending love for every makeup product and brand there is (obsessed is an easier way to see it.) Anywayyyyy, I have just popped a 'sort of' helpful image here, that I've also edited by numbering each product, to guide you. Let's give it a go then....

1. Lasting perfection ultimate wear concealer (by Collection) - Now to start off, I have one word for this concealer...LIFESAVING. I bought this concealer not that long ago due to everyone ranting and raving about it and how good it is for a drugstore concealer and I must say I am so thankful to everyone that annoyingly ranted and raved about it because I LOVE IT! I have the shade 'Fair 1' and mainly use this concealer for the contour part of my makeup routine and I apply it down my nose, in a triangle under both eyes and as a triangle on my forehead starting between my eyebrows. I feel that it gives my face a nice shape whilst also covering my blemishes that I have on my cheeks and on my forehead. so hats off to the dark horse brand Collection. (You can buy this product superdrug, boots and the Collection Cosmetics website and is usually priced at £4.19)

2. Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Eye Concealer (by Maybelline) - This is again another concealer but this one I use for under my eyes to cover dark circles. It works absolute wonders at concealing my tired eyes when I get woken up in the morning by my mom and have to go out...everybody can relate to me on that one. But overall, I have to say this concealer is very good for concealing dark circles and also blemishes. I have it in the shade 'Light' but I do feel that it is still quite dark and I have fair-olive skin so to all your fair skin girls, just remember that. (You can buy this product from any drugstore shop- superdrug, boots and also online websites like feel unique and is usually priced between £7.99 and £8.99.)

3. Morphe 35P eyeshadow palette (by Morphe Brushes) - This is one of my absolute favourite eyeshadow palettes and I feel that it have really started to catch my eye in the year of 2017 because of the colours that are in it. The variety of colours go from creams to lighter and darker toned browns to lighter and darker toned pinks, reds and purples. There is also a few shimmery eyeshadows in there, including a light gold, black with pink glitter, light purples, dark purples, bright purples and so on. Another thing I love about this palette is that the pigment is amazing, can never fail with a Morphe Brushes eyeshadow palette... unless you fail at applying eyeshadow which in that case you can fail with this palette. (This product is an American branded product and can therefore only be bought from 2 online shops at the price of £22-£23.50, they are Cult beauty and Beauty Bay - check out one of my recent blogs on these websites http://beautyfulgossip.blogspot.co.uk/2017/07/where-can-i-buy-american-beauty.html

4. Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara (by Maybelline) - All I can say really is WOW. This product has changed everything for me and you might think I'm over exaggerating but girls try it and you will realise...trust me. The first time I seen this product was from watching one of Zoella's vlogs on doing her normal makeup routine. So as Zoella does...she persuaded me in to buying this magical product and I must say...it made my eyes look so much more wide awake and my eyelashes look so long and full. I now use this mascara everyday and I'm already on my 2nd bottle so far. You read that...so far girls! I will keep buying this mascara until they stop selling it, which will most likely be the day I have a breakdown. (You can buy this mascara from superdrug, boots etc. and is usually priced at £8.99.)

5. Infallible Total Cover full coverage Longwear foundation (by L'Oréal) - To start off with this product I have to say it is not the best foundation to apply independently. When I first bought it I tried it out and it looked pretty good, the coverage was full and the texture was also very nice. However, when I took a picture of my skin with and without the flash, my skin looked very cakey. I don't really like this as it makes my face feel very fake looking. It's a big turn off. How am I honestly saying a makeup product is turning me off wth. Anyway, your probably wondering why I've put this as one of my favourite beauty products when I don't even wear it as a foundation. To make you less confused, I'll tell you why. So, I mix this foundation with my Urban Decay weightless foundation and the La. Girl Pro Coverage foundation to actually make the perfect foundation for me. As you can probably tell, I am very fussy and like my blemishes to be covered whilst still making my skin look not too cakey, so when I mix the Infallible Total Cover with my other foundations, the coverage level is still very much the same without making my skin look too cakey. (The colour I use is '12 Natural Rose' and you can buy it from superdrug or boots. It is priced around £8.99 - £9.99.)

6. Eyeshadow Primer Potion (by Urban Decay) -The only thing I can really say about this eyeshadow primer is that it is the best one there is. No other eyeshadow primer I have tried is anywhere near as good as this one. I wouldn't be surprised if it stayed on whilst you was in a swimming pool. I've never personally tried this but go on girls have a go and let me know whether your cut crease is still in tact 😂. I have the original one and it is perfect for keeping the eyeshadow in place. Girl, if you gonna cry over a boy, don't worry, this primer will keep your eyeshadow popping whilst you go and flaunt your stuff. On the packaging, it also says that using this primer results in 'NO creasing' and I definitely agree with this, my eyeshadow has no creases and looks just as good as I applied it over 12 hours ago. So girls, defoooooo go and buy this eyeshadow primer if your looking for a new one, it is by far the best. (You can buy this from the Urban Decay website or Debenhams and the price ranges between £17 - £19.)

7. HD Finishing Powder (by NYX Cosmetics) - This powder is my go to powder. It makes my face look flawless and also feel like it isn't sticky and I don't know about you but the sticky feeling after applying my foundation makes me cringe more than anything. I personally think I'm just weird but anyways I have the powder in the shade 'banana' (which I'm not sure if they do anymore) and am already on to my 2nd one. I also love how soft and silky the texture of this powder is and how long it actually keeps my face matte for. This is good because I sadly am one of the unfortunate people that have overly oily skin so this powder is heaven to my eyes. (This powder can be bought from NYX Cosmetics website or boots and is priced as £9.)

8. 'GIRL TALK' Prismatic Eyeshadow by (NYX Cosmetics) - As you can probably tell I am very much a fan girl over NYX Cosmetics and I love so many of their products, especially these eyeshadows as they are so pigmented. The colour that is in the picture is called 'Girl Talk' and I am in love with this colour as it goes with any eye look, from browns to reds etc. The colour is also so shimmery which makes my makeup look popping and just makes me feel like the queen that I am (just kidding.) Something else that I love about this product is the little plastic tub it comes in, it has a little bow on it and I just love it...most people wouldn't actually care but it just made me wanna buy them more. (This eyeshadow can be bought from boots or the NYX Cosmetics website. It is priced as £5.50.)

9. Vivid Baked Highlighter (by Makeup Revolution) - This highlighter is so pretty and I love wearing it in the day to give me a natural glow without looking too full on. For the price it is so pigmented and it just shows you don't have to spend a lot to give your face the glow it needs. I have two colours- peach lights and golden lights. This one is the peach lights and is my favourite out the two because of its pink tones. When I wear it, it honestly feels like there is fairy dust on my cheeks or something so I really recommend people buying it. (You can buy from superdrug or the TAM Beauty website that supplies the Makeup Revolution brand. This highlighter is ONLY £3!! I had to exaggerate the 'ONLY' because there are highlighter palettes out there that are £25+  and this one highlighter is just as pigmented as some of those. So this is a definite recommended beauty buy.)

10. Sunset Gel Nail Paint (by Barry M) - I'm going to tell the honest truth here...my nails are so short and stubby so really I don't have any nails but when I do grow them, which is very, very rare, I really like using this nail varnish as it is very thick and makes my nails seem strong (which is actually the opposite of them...) Not gonna lie though, I do have longish nails at the moment and I actually have this colour on right now whilst I'm writing this.) The colour I have is called 'dark side of the 'shroom' and it is such a pretty colour- weird name though right...I don't quite get it but yeah. The tones are more purple and browns. I feel like you could wear it in all four seasons as it is quite a subtle colour. (You can buy this from superdrug and it is £4.99.)

Right now its time to get on to the hair and skin products that I love and use a lot. I'll also tell you about some of my secret hacks that include using these products. Before I start, I would also like to mention that I've got oily-combination skin that is very blemish-prone. However, if you read my past blog posts you would have already known that. Anyway I'm gonna stop boring you and get started on the good stuff that you wanna know. So yet again, I've used the wonderful Snapchat to number the products to make it easier for you cause I'm nice like that.

1. Pure Clay Blemish Rescue Mask (by L'Oréal) - This face mask was a life saver to me when I found it out. You have to use it around twice a week and leave it on for 5-10 minutes each time. To start with I wanna say that the smell of this is surprisingly nice however I feel that some people may not like the smell of it as its quite strange. On the other hand, the face mask is a blue colour and is said to unclog blackheads and clear imperfections which I agree that it does do this after using it around 5 times. I usually use the mask on the night and then wash it off before bed so when I wake up in the morning my face feel fresh and I loveeeeeee it! I feel that my skin has cleared up quite a bit since using it and it does feel a lot clearer. It also says that in each pot there is around 10 applications however I've used it 5 times now and have quite a lot left so I don't agree with this. I think that there is actually more product in there that they say there is. IT'S A WIN WIN REALLY. (You can buy this product from superdrug, feel unique and boots. The prices can range from £5.99 - £7.99 depending from where you get it from.)

2. Blemish Stick (by Witch) - This is basically what it says it is, a stick for your blemishes. The texture is like a gel and is coloured blue. When I apply this to my skin, my skin feels cold, its actually a really nice feeling, unless I'm just not normal. I honestly feel that this product is amazing and keeps my blemishes at bay and stops them from being inflamed and red. For best results, put on at night so you are sleeping with it on. A good thing about this product is that it doesn't make your skin dry which for any girl is the worst because your makeup just looks crap and nothing sits on your face right. So girls, if you've got blemishes and want something to help them without drying out your skin, this is the best product for it. (You can buy this from Bodycare and superdrug. The pricing can range from £1.99 - £2.69.)

3. Sensitive Post Shave Balm (by Nivea Men) - Lets just start by saying if you haven't heard why people use this in their beauty routine, you are probably super confused so I'll fill you in. This post shave balm can be used as a primer and is surprisingly very good. It keeps makeup in place for a long period of time and is overall really good for the fact it is a men's post shave balm. Just to tell you now though, it does smell like a man...well masculine if that makes sense. So if you don't mind smelling like a man, defo go and buy it. (This can be bought from superdrug and boots and is priced between £5.35 - £5.69.)

4. Sea Salt Spray (by V05) - Well this spray is good and bad so your probably wondering why I've gone and put it on my favourite beauty products...but this is where one of my hacks come in. I'm gonna tell you about two of my HACKS with this spray. The first one is that if you'd like to have subtly wavy hair then this is the best thing to use. I firstly plait my hair in to one Dutch or French plait on the night and then spray this on my hands and apply it to the plait. When you take it out in the morning, your will have beautiful beach waves and you'll feel beauts!!! So the other hack is that if you're wearing your hair back (if that's in a ponytail or in plaits) this spray can be used. How I use it is I spray a few sprays of it on to the bristles of a toothbrush (I know your probably thinking "a toothbrush!?!??!!?" but let me tell you, this hack is one of the best hacks) and then I brush my hair with the toothbrush to stick all the wispy bits to my head and to make sure that all my hair is back. We've all been there when we're trying to take a bomb selfie and all you can see is little pieces of hair sticking out on top of your head so try this hack and you will thank me!! (You can buy it from boots or superdrug and it is between £4.19 - £4.60.)

5. Blush Dry Shampoo (by Batiste) - Firstly, the smell of this is amazing!! It smells gorgeous and it makes me feel super fresh even when my hair isn't 'super fresh' if you know what I mean. It also keeps your hair looking clean after sweating whilst sunbathing or going to the gym (which I do not...I'm too lazy for that, don't know about you lot.) So make sure you have dry shampoo in your handbag this summer girls... (You can buy this from practically any shop that sells toiletries including superdrug and depending on the size, the price can range from £1.50 - £4.99.)

6. Wet Skin Dry Oil  (by Calypso Sun Protection) - This is by far my favourite sun protection product! I first tried this last year on my holiday in Mexico and the tan I got was amazing. It helps you get an all over even tan without making you burn. You can choose between 4 different spf levels- 6, 10, 15 and 30. Another great thing about this product is that you can use it on wet or dry skin and it still absorbs whilst leaving no greasy residue despite the fact it is an oil. Overall I would rate this 10/10, I absolutely love it and it is by far my favourite sun protection product. As you can probably tell...it is my favourite sun protection product as I've already said it twice...well 3 times now. Oops. (You can get this product from Wilko, Bodycare and Tesco where it costs between £4 - £8.14. Personally I think the best place to buy it from is Bodycare as it is the cheapest from there.)

So that's this long blog post done. Hopefully you've took some of my advice and hacks and will buy some of these amazing products! Let me know if you enjoyed reading it and went on to buy any of the products I have recommended. Till next timeeeee XXXXXXXX

Do homemade face masks actually work?

Follow my blog with Bloglovin So to start off I am quite interested in writing a blog about this. I think this is because loads of people are going nuts at the moment over these homemade face mask crazes. Personally, I have done 2 homemade face masks and I got very opposite and completely different results from them and I mean completely different. By this I mean one made my face breakout so bad and made my skin feel like it was being stretched right out, whereas the other face mask made my skin feel super smooth and reduced the inflammation of my blemishes.

The face mask that basically ruined my skin was the Egg white face mask. So I've seen this over social media and on other blogs and it is quite popular so I thought I'd also give it a go. Follow the crowd you know as you do. But I wish I never put myself out there and actually did this face mask because it made my skin breakout so badly and just made my skin feel overly dry as if it was being stretched out constantly.

Now lets get to the good homemade face mask that is sort of a life saver. The cinnamon and honey face mask. When I read about this I thought what the actual *beep*. Why would I put cinnamon and honey on my face when I can have it on waffles instead. But, I did give it a go and my skin felt so clean and soft afterwards. I really recommend this home made face mask as it is so good on the skin. I feel that when the honey and cinnamon are mixed together, it's consistency is a lot like an exfoliator but because its not being scrubbed on your face, it exfoliates your skin without damaging it. Just to pre-warn you, it is very messy and very sticky. When I do this homemade face mask I have to wear one of them ugly t-shirts that you leave at the bottom of your wardrobe for when you need to paint, dye your hair or do something messy etc. It's also just as messy to wash off but after using this face mask quite a lot, I feel that using a wet flannel gets it off the best.

Can I just add another thing that I think is amazing about this homemade face mask, IT SMELLS AMAZING. I love cinnamon so the smell was so nice even though it made me crave cinnamon pretzels :(

So there is my personal view on two homemade face masks for you...let me know your opinions on them xxxxxxxxxx

My Daily Skincare Routine

Hi guys, so in this blog post I'll be talking about my boring old skincare routine that I do twice a day (morning and night.) I think it might be useful to tell you that I have combination-oily skin so this is mainly for people that have this type of skin and are very blemish-prone as well (I feel sorry for myself and you because personally I think it is the worst type of skin.) I also have mild acne and have prescribed tablets to help with that but I feel that my skincare routine that I have been doing for around 6 months now helps a lot to keep it calm and less red. So lets get on to it....

La Roche-Posay Anti-Blemish System Kit
Now, the products I use for my skincare routine are the La Roche-Posay Effaclar range. I use 3 of the products and these are the Effaclar purifying cleansing Gel, Effaclar clarifying toner and the Effaclar duo (+). You can buy these products together in smaller bottles in an Effaclar Anti-Blemish system kit that La Roche-Posay sell or you can buy them separately (I did this because it turned out cheaper with the bigger sizes of bottles.) You can buy these products at Boots , Superdrug or on the La Roche-Posay website. La Roche-Posay do many products for all different types of skin like suncare, exfoliators, eye creams, serums, products for dry skin etc. so it is worth looking at.

So lets actually get on to my step-by-step routine before I bore you with all the boring stuff. The first thing I do before I start my skincare routine is tie my hair back in an awful bun and put a leopard print headband in that I've had for about 7 years😂 (Tbh thinking about it, I didn't need to tell you it was leopard print but I just thought it was funny so have that little piece of unnecessary information.)

Once I make myself look completely unattractive, I wet my hands and put around a peanut size of the purifying cleansing gel in my hands. I then rub my hands together so the gel turns in to a foaming consistency and smother it all over my face and rub everywhere. I then go on to washing it off with luke warm water and pat my face dry (do not rub your face with the towel as it can cause wrinkles and damages your skin) with a separate towel that I use only for my face. Your probably wondering why I use a separate towel, I do this because it stops germs spreading and makes sure that my face is fully clean. TIP: When washing the gel off do not do what the women do on Neutrogena adverts and splash the water all over the bathroom. I have no idea why they even use that as an advert, I personally think its ridiculous but yeah just wash it off like a normal person.

I then go on to using the clarifying toner. If you have a lot of blemishes and imperfections (like me) it can sting so be aware of that. So to use the toner, I put a small amount on a fresh cotton pad and gently wipe across my face. The scent of the toner is quite weird, it reminds me of the dentist for some weird reason but I actually like it so that's probably weirder. I used the word 'weird' quite a lot then but anyway if you have blemishes, the stinging should only last for a few seconds.

The last step is to put the effaclar duo (+) on your skin. This is basically a moisturiser that helps to get rid of any redness, blemishes and imperfections and also soothes the skin whilst making it feel moisturised.

SO THATS MY SKINCARE ROUTINE DONE!

Can I just add that whilst writing this blog post, I went on to the official La Roche-Posay website and they have something called The Skin Edit. On this they show their guide to caring for all types of  skin. Their specialist hub then give you expert information from preventative tips, to common questions, and advice from top dermatologists, other bloggers and Beauty Editors. So that seems pretty cool....defo worth giving a read.

Hope you liked this blog post and it helped all you people with oily-combination skin xxxxxxxxxxx

Where can I buy American Beauty products online?

So this is my first blog post and I feel quite excited to write about this because I'm one of the misfortunate people that live in the UK and find it so hard to get makeup from America without the currency exchange and awful month long wait for it to come (I have been there and done that and let me tell you, I am NEVER going there again.) Waiting for that long is torture when you love makeup as much as I do and just want to get your hands all over it. SO I thought id write this post about where to buy American beauty brands from online.

Cult Beauty home page
My ABSOLUTE favourite website to buy English/American beauty products from is Cult Beauty. They are my life savers. At first when Cult Beauty was recommended to me I thought straight away...hm weird name don't ya think. But when I actually went and looked at the website itself I thought...hm don't jump the gun Evie this website is pretty decent. So your probably thinking just get to the point and tell me what's good about Cult Beauty? So here are some of my favourite things:
  • The website is well layed out and so easy to navigate to your favourite makeup brands, hair care brands and skin care brands.
  • Cult Beauty also show their top 10 of different popular products like serums, eye-must haves, masks, cleansers, blemish treatments etc. I love this because it gives reviews and advises you to which one is the best. This is how you know your getting the best help girls ;)
  • It also gives you the TOP RATED of all types of products. I don't know about your guys but when I see the words 'top rated' I click on that straight away. I wanna see the best of the best and be looking flawless with my 'top rated' makeup.
  • Right the last thing I'm going to say is that is sells so many American beauty products and it is so easy to buy without all the hassle. They sell the best of products from Anastasia Beverly Hills highlighter palettes to the Modern Renaissance Palette that I absolutely adore and want more than anything. Other brands they sell are Violet Voss, Huda Beauty, Morphe Brushes (which I loveeeee) and Stila cosmetics etc.
So there's my advice and opinions on Cult Beauty and I hope it helped so go and have a look at their website and treat yourself to as many beauty products as you can girl, you know you deserve it.

The next website that I also use to buy my American makeup products from is Beauty Bay. Personally, I
Beauty Bay home page
think the name is super cute and me and my friends all use it as the delivery is so cheap and usually free if you spend £15 or more. Once again I'll just get to the point so you know why I like this website and what is so good about it. Here are some of my favourite things:
  • Firstly the website comes up with a help bar which you can use to ask for help if your stuck on what eyeshadow palette you want to add to your ridiculously big collection (so not me....)
  • As I've already said the delivery is super good. If you spend £15 or more you get free UK delivery and then if you spend £40 and over you get free next day UK delivery. I know, it's so good!
  • Beauty Bay also sells highly rated American beauty products like Anastasia Beverly Hills and L.A. Girl (which I personally think is sooo underrated for the price- so cheap yet so good! I advise you to try their products out.) Milani, Morphe Brushes and Zoeva are also sold on this website and are also amazing brands.
So that's it for my FIRST EVER BLOG POST! Hope you enjoyed reading and it helped you out on where to buy American Beauty products from. Till next time girls xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
